Sainsbury's buys e-book retailer

"Sainsbury's is entering the digital books marketplace, with the announcement that it is buying HMV's stake in Anobii, an online retailer of e-books, for just £1."

Sainsbury's is a long-established grocery/supermarket chain in the UK.

Never heard of Anobii, but the price suggests they're in a hole with debt. Can't help but feel that Sainsbury's would have had more traction just setting up using their own name.
