However, the demo might be far from beta version because it will lack some features like highlight support, manual cropping etc. It will take some time to gradually move all these features from the old code base to the new UI framework.

Glad to hear that you want to help out As knc1 has pointed out, we only use C++ to write the glue code for CREngine and most part of KPV is written in Lua. So you need to first learn some Lua.
