All of the flat scree 19" monitors I've seen so far at my desired price point (about $250) max at 1280x1024 resolution.

But the Dell 2001FP (example http://raleigh.craigslist.org/sys/739799291.html) is a great monitor. I have the 2000FP... the same LCD panel as the 2001, but the 2001 has a much smaller bezel. Do you not want a wide screen aspect ratio instead?
No, I want dual monitors. The wide screens generally aren't wide enough.

Before I got into computers, I was a graphic designer and print production guy. I still do occasional print design projects for fun. My ideal monitor would allow me to display two 8.5x11 pages side by side in actual size, and leave room for the program chrome around it.
