There are pluses and minuses.

Some of the negatives which sway my choice:

You cannot use the Calibre plugin Kindle Collections to administer your collections. Not a problem if you have only a few books, but it matters a lot to me.

I read mostly in bed, usually lying on one side or the other. As I roll over, I switch my Kindle from one hand to the other. As the Keyboard model and the Basic model have buttons on both edges, pages can conveniently be changed with either hand. The Touch can only be 'paged' forwards by tapping or swiping the right-hand side of the page. The left-hand side is reserved for paging backwards. So, when lying on my left, paging forwards is a two-handed operation.
