I don't think e-ink is the right technology for schools. LCDs offer a lot more in terms of interactivity and multimedia.
It costs more than glass. Not a plus for schools.
As for the drop demo, I've done worse to my k4nt and fire without consequence.
It's interesting technology, but not compelling.
