I don't get knocking, but during the half hour or so each morning that Calibre is shooting out the news to my @free.kindle.com address, my PC spends most of the time with the fan running. When doing other tasks, I rarely hear the fan noise.

Black Friday 2012 may be time for me to pony up for a new PC. If I find Ivy Bridge running Windows 8 for $300, I'm grabbing it.
