Are Kobo PC app books saved to PC?

I bought a book from Kobo but have had trouble downloading it typical way using the Adobe DRM download button. I always get an error and it doesn't show up in my list and the file in the Digital editions folder is corrupted. Usually I add those books to Calibre and then put them on my Sony Reader. The book is synced to the Kobo app and works fine from there. I was wondering if they are also downloaded to the PC somewhere so I can add them to Calibre like I normally can do with my Sony Store or Kindle bought ebooks. Could someone tell me where the books are saved if indeed they are?
