What he is saying is that people are going to buy Kindles anyway, there is nothing he can do to stop that.
You can buy them in electronic shops, mobile phone shops and even supermarkets.
Waterstones selling Kindles isn't going to make a huge difference one way or another to Amazon's domination in the UK, and at least they might make a bit of money from it.
