It's a pointless number imo, so the amount you give or receive doesn't really matter. What is good about it though is you get to know if someone else appreciated your post or really agreed with it but had nothing further to add. It helps avoid a "+1/me too/I agree" style response. That and the comments you receive can be quite amusing at times
