Yippee! It's been a while since I correctly guessed a quiz answer! [Stieg Larsson was my next guess!]

Guess that means I have to scratch up a new question to stump you folks with ....
*scratch* *scratch* oh look! Worms! Earthworms! How about a worm question?

In honor of the upcoming UK Olympics, I'd like to remind you all of the competitive sport Worm Charming! Yes - in addition to gathering bait or grossing out your friends & neighbors, Worm Charming (aka Worm Grunting or Worm Fiddling) is a recognized sport using a variety of techniques & apparatus to lure the little rascals to the surface. The World Worm Charming Championships were established in 1980 in Great Britain, and are now held annually. To quote the rule book:

"Rules of The British and European Federation of Wormcharmers include a plot no greater than 3 metres by 3 metres, a five-minute warm up period, a three-person team of charmer, catcher and counter and that all worms must be returned to the ground after the contest according to the British Association of Worm Length Supporters (BAWLS)."

Disclaimer: No folks, I am NOT making this up.

The current world record was established on June 29, 2009 by 10-year-old Sophie Smith of Willaston, England who raised how many worms from her 3 x 3 plot of earth in 30 minutes?

[Just thinking about those masses of worms makes a chicken drool!]

How many worms?
