I totally agree. Of course I don't try to put every book in the world on my Kindles like some people do!

To initially set up collections on a new Kindle is really easy. If you don't want to take the time to set them up on the Kindle itself, you can use K4PC in Windows and set them up that way. Then simply import them. You have to load all the books of course. I owned the PRS-505, 300, 350, 600, 900, and 950. Trust me, managing collections on a Kindle is a much better experience than the one provided by Sony.
