I've on occasion gone on and on and on about some book I've fallen in love with, to a handful of closest friends (not so much because I want to "convert" them but because it's currently filling my brain and I have a hard time not thinking or talking about it), but I try to make sure I'll never cross that limit and tell them "you really must read it" (or even "you really should read it"). Sometimes they've given in and read it. ;-)

I really dislike it when anyone tells me what I "must" or "should" read, or "you will love this" (which comes off as an order; I'd like to make up my own mind, thank you), so I always try to avoid doing that to others. I know quite a few of my friends strongly dislike being told what to read, too.
