I've been tracking what I read ever since I was a kid. I still have my index file containing titles, authors and opinions of the books I read. When I was in my 20's I carried a stack of index cards with me at all times, a card for each letter of the alphabet, with author's name and the list of titles acquired, written very small. That was very helpful when going book shopping. (Yes I still have the cards).

Now I track on goodreads, and have google docs spread sheets for titles read by month as well as by genre for the year. I've read close to 100 this year according to goodreads, but that includes a lot of short stories and some DNF. For an actual count I can go to my spreadsheets.

I've created a summer reading list for myself that is about 50 books. Now if I can stick to it, but, I won't. I tend to jump around. And I often have several books going at once. Right now, just one actively reading, but 5 or more others that I've started but haven't gone back to, including May's Kindle Lending Library book. It's like I have book ADD. There are just so many that I want to read!
