I second the use of the Safely Remove Hardware option.

The Gen3 is susciptabel to the memory card being corrupted, so taking this simple precaution should minimise the chances of that happening.

And the Reader and its Memory card usually appears alongside the removable drives such as Flash drives, etc. in My computer.

Sometimes if the USB port is not working correctly, they will not show up, but a system restart usually fixes that.
