It is neither necessary nor common for a how-to article to cover ever possible scenario. It's entirely OK for someone to post an article describing a (not every) process for using a (not every) gadget.

You are correct on every point, but it would be nice if the article wasn't written to a third grade reading level and didn't contain obvious grammar and spelling errors that should have been corrected before publication.
