The general public, for the most part, still doesn't understand what an ereader is. Kindle, Nook, iPad, etc., it's all the same for a lot of people.

So a simple message like "You can check out ebooks at the library" is news to many people. The technical details hardly matter. If that basic concept can get out there, it's a service.

I'm much more annoyed by the articles that talk about ereading, when the only device they've ever read on is an iPad.
