There is a lot of k3/dx/dxg activity here too, if you can recognize it. In fact, the VAST MAJORITY of posts here are from before the K4 and K5 were released. The threads are typically named for the project rather than the devices that they support. The launchpad and myts and muPDF programs are for k3 and earlier, and there other active projects that do not support new kindles.
Even IF there were yet another k3 forum, google searches for k3 stuff would probably continue to bring k3 users to THIS forum. It does not make sense to abandon this forum that contains a vast wealth of k3 posts just because there is a lot of recent activity for newer models.
And there is a growing code base of stuff that runs on ALL kindle models (based on stuff that I and others have published here), so why fragment that across two forums?
It DOES make sense to keep the eink kindles and the non-eink kindles (fire) in separate forums, because they are very different in both software and hardware design and implementation.
But in my opinion, eink kindle development should stay together, here.
