This is what amazes me most about the whole affair, and makes it seem more of a marketing ploy than a genuine swipe at ebooks. A few years ago he wrote an Amazon-only novella called " UR" especially for the Kindle. It was about a customer who received a Pink Kindle with very special EXPERIMENTAL options, including being able to buy the books Ernest Hemingway wrote after July 2, 1961.

This. I'm thinking that the publisher may be the one behind this and they likely arrived at a "special deal."
