Here's something different than what I usually post. May be best for those with LCD readers or computers. Author and photographer is giving us her two volume set free today at least.

Images of the Oregon Coast is a book of digital photographs intended to give the viewer the feeling of standing on an Oregon Coast beach or outcropping. The images in this volume were gathered in the area surrounding Florence, Oregon, and North to Waldport, Oregon. The camera used was a Nikon digital point and shoot with a 15x telephoto lens. Lightening or darkening of each shot, as well as cropping to achieve a better focal point was done as necessary, but no other computer enhancement was done. It is intention of the author/photographer to give the viewer the same feeling they would experience if they were standing on the beach beside the photographer. The only things missing are the salt spray, the scent, and the surf. Hearing the gulls cry as they swoop across the sky is a sound that cannot be duplicated, and it is to my dismay that cameras do not include a photo/sound option on still shots.

Images of The Oregon Coast, Vol. 2 continues our digital journey south from Devil's Elbow State Park, to the Umpqua Lighthouse near Reedsport, Oregon. The images are intended to give the viewer a sense of actually being on a beach or outcropping along the Oregon Coast. Missing are the feelings of salt spray in the air, the sounds of the surf and the birds, the smell of the sea, and the grit of the fine grained sand. This is a good volume to curl up with on a winter evening, over a cup of hot cocoa, in the warmth and safety of your own home. Long travel can be less stressful for the kids when they have this volume to enjoy on the way. If you like waves, birds, and the ocean, I hope you enjoy these photos.
