I have read some of the books/authors you list, so our tastes migth overlap!

Assuming you'd like to try other authors, in which case I'd suggest the following:
- Yukio Mishima's Spring Snow.
- James Leo Herlihy's Midnight Cowboy
- Andrea Levy's Small Island
- Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita
- Albert Camus' The Stranger

These are very different in style and "approach", so hope one of them will take your fancy
