I finished
Roseanna by Sjöwall and Wahlöö some time ago, and have since read
A for Anything by Damon Knight. Both books were solid but unspectacular. One's a police procedural, the other is dystopian sci-fi.
I'm starting on
Leviathan Wakes by James Corey from the Hugo shortlist now, and I also accidentally read a good chunk of
Bounce: The Myth of Talent by Matthew Syed this morning. The latter is a strange mix of inspiring and demoralising. It's about whether excellence is inherent or the result of hard work. (Spoiler: it's the second one.

) Basically, he seems to be saying that almost anyone can be world-class at anything (yay!) as long as they practise for ten years (boo!). It's a good read, though, so far.
