Unlike the common narrative, poetry sometimes relies upon, or at least greatly benefits from, more precise typesetting. This is hard[er] to do with epubs.
Whenever I see poetry inset in an otherwise narrative epub, it is usually screwed up to greater or lesser degrees. It might look great if my font was set to that epub's default type and size, but it never is. Same can be said for illustrations, tables, and anything 'out of paragraph'.
I admit to not much enjoying poetry, other than that found scribbled on the bathroom stall.
