Ouch!
If you can't get any kind of response from the Kindle (no chance to reset etc.), then try ringing the Amazon Kindle support and see what they suggest. You can't lose anything be giving it a go, even if it is out of warranty.
If they won't help, then what
I would do is try opening it and fiddling with internal connections. But absolutely as a last resort, and only if you are not going to return to base for them to fix or replace it. I've brought a few gadgets back from the dead that way
