Yup, I'm guilty of this too. I had to read The Great Gatsby when I was maybe 15 or so. I did actually read the book, as in reading words and turning pages, but I retained almost none of it in my memory. I wasn't half the reader I am now.
Now I'm interested in reading it, with the new movie coming out and all. It'll still have to wait with all the other books I have on my TBR list.
