Yeah, it'd be foolish to buy one now. You could be reading on something better sometime this summer! Or, ah, you could be reading on one next week, for under $100, with better technology than those fools that bought one three years ago. Or five years ago. Or ten years ago.
If a crucial feature to you is about to go live, then sure, you should wait. However, if you're just waiting for "the best" ereader... might as well stick with paper for another decade; the tech is new and constantly changing, and it really is going to be a while before we sort out what hardware and software features are "best" in the long run.
(It says, "Amazon is set to release its own backlit E Ink-based Kindle this summer." Somehow, I doubt that, and I can't think much of any guide to technology that misrepresents the hardware that badly. However, it is Fox news, so I suppose they get points for correctly spelling "Kindle.")
