theducks: Depending on your workflow, yes this could screw things up. With my workflow it doesn't - I have carefully styled everything in Word, and the styles match up with what I have in the stylesheet I've loaded into Sigil.
This way it is easy to blow away all the embedded style information in the head, replace MsoNormal and I'm good to go!
The key is to always use styles to format the text in Word. Assign a style - don't use Ctrl+I to italicize text.
