Charles. No, I cannot use the URL in the browser of the tablet. I keep getting a data connectivity problem box that comes up. I've tried going into Windows and completely turning off the firewall (calibre isn't listed under the programs on my firewall), then going back into Aldiko and clicking on the URL again - nothing. My main home internet connection is Comcast. When I set my router up about a year ago, the main computer is the PC and linked with the router is my netbook (hope this makes sense). By connecting as a guest, I mean, for example, you bring your laptop to my house and you want to use my internet. Where it show on your computer to connect to a wireless network, the name of mine would show on your screen and you would have to log into it with the username and password (I have it password protected). It then says your are logged into the wifi connection as a guest. Every time I check the PC's URL number it's stayed the same. When I checked the router properties, it does have a different URL number with a port number after it. Think I should try using that number and change the port number to:8080? Also, if I understand you correctly (I am definately not a techie), you say the firewall on my PC must permit incoming connections to Calibre. Do I need to add Calibre to the list of programs in the firewall and tell it to allow?
Sorry for the stupid questions. Oh, when I bypass the 4G on the tablet and turn on the wifi for my home connection, I can get into any other website I want. Just trying to cover all the issues (I hope).
