I am a K3 owner, and I don't recall needing to read any fine print. Everything I've encountered over the past few years made it pretty clear that Amazon never promised that functionality to me. When I went from a K2 to a K3, I checked here to see if that functionality was still there, because in light of soaring data plan costs, I expected it to go away, and I was very pleased to find it still there.
There is a difference between not reading the fine print and choosing to be totally oblivious to the large print.
That being said, I do understand how someone could get used to the K3's 3G features, and so would be
disappointed that the feature is gone, which is really all pazu said. I sure will be disappointed when that goes away.
What I have harder time understanding is the seeming implication that the same 3G feature were
expected to still be there.

There is NOT.
Amazon has been careful to NEVER make that promise.
There is lifetime 3g for book buying, with the browsing ability only there as long as Amazon feels like keeping it active. It was never promised for the K3. All we know is that we have had that extra capability so far.
