I do that as well - 'manual' sort of certain book series which are saved in collections.

As for carrying your "whole library" with you at all times, I would reconsider if you really need to do that, or if you might survive with, say, maybe the top 100-150 books on your reading list. Because finding and accessing books when you have a huge amount stored in the reader (or on cards) is difficult and slow--it's a flat file system. And, memory cards will use up the battery faster. Honestly, a fw months' worth of reading will fit easily on the reader and be readily accessible.
