Suddenly can't load AP news onto $80 Kindle
Ever since I got my $80 ad-supported Kindle, I have been enjoying daily dowloads of the AP and BBC news. I have upgraded to Calibre 0.8.51 and i am running Ubuntu 12 Linux. I can see my Kindle and its contents just fine in the file manger. However I can't seem to copy files directly into the Kindle as i could back when I was running Windows Vista. I tried to check the Permission on the Kindle but I don't know how to interpret what Ubuntu says and/or how to change the Permissions if needs be. Rather oddly, when I plug my Kindle into my USB, Ubuntu thinks it is a media player [!?]. However, Calibre recognizes it as a Kindle. When I try to send an AP MOBI to my Kindle's main memory, I get this error message:
calibre, version 0.8.51
ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

I did recently add the Barnes & Noble and FictionDB search plugins and the Generate Cover, Manage Series, and Resize Cover plugins around the time the AP and BBC downloads stopped working. Could there be any connection?
