I was not aware that there was a paid StumbleUpon option. I am using it free. Basically, I blogged for about a year (65 posts) then stumbled, liked and commented on practically all of my posts in a period of a little over a week (while adding other users and liking other posts as well). This gave me a fairly big spike that has since tapered off.

I have heard stories, however, of old blog posts getting huge amounts of traffic because of being randomly found and rediscovered on Stumble.

The good thing about the spike was it gave me a better idea of what posts were working and what weren't. As soon as I saw I was getting traffic to certain posts, I changed my social media buttons to display counters so that other visitors would see what posts were doing well and read those posts.
