Well, I did look into the regular price of the book and whether or not this might turn into a series I would enjoy, and it turned out to be a huge savings ($0.99, which was 89% off the regular price.) I'll admit, though, that I acted on impulse. Usually I check my library first to see if the book is available there. But for a buck, I took the easy/lazy way out. So much for self discipline.

Actually, though, I imposed the budget because there is another series I want that discount codes can't be used to purchase, it's not available at the library, and I really want the books and they're $10.99 each at the lowest price. (And it really bugs me paying more than $10 for an ebook.) Before I purchased the first one, I decided on a monthly budget limit and the purchase of book #1 took me up to that limit. I've finished that one and I will make myself wait for books #2 and #3, with a lot to read in the meantime.

I thought of upping the budget to $25/month, lol!
