2666
365 Foreign Dishes
Evergreen Tree Pruning Calendar
Creating a Water Garden
The Quilt Inn Country Cookbook
A. V. Laider
Abarat
Abbot's Ghost
The Absent-Minded Coterie

Ignoring the definite article is sensible, but I do not understand the others.

Has anyone any ideas, please?

Title sort. Select those books, Tap 'E' (bulk Metadata edit shortcut), tick the Automatic Title sort box, click OK

There is a Preference Tweak (at the bottom) for sorting rules: Library order or Alphabetical

Lastly, there is the Quality check Plugin to help find common metadata difficulties
