I don't recall anyone mentioning "Excalibur" (1981), my favorite retelling of the King Arthur legend. It's gorgeous to look at and stars the divine Helen Mirren as Morgana.

(And speaking of Helen Mirren, she made "Prime Suspect" one of the greatest television series of all time.)
