Craig, welcome to the club! You won't regret the buy, trust me.

As there are a few X50v owners hanging around, I thought I'd help myself wait out the delivery period by asking you guys about your experiences with VGA, and any advice you can give that will make life easier when I finally get my little present for me

Some random tips:
- you can run your X50v both in 320x240 and in 640x480 mode; switching requires a softreset. You also need
OZVga];
- I usually keep my Del in 640x480 mode;
- all Resco products (Explorer, Photo Viewer) look great in VGA;
- there are still no great games out there supporting the Intel 2700 accelerator. Hopefully this will change soon with WM 5.0, since game developers can then rely on DirectX and don't need to program the Intel directly anymore. Try the two games that come on CD with your X50v - they look both impressive;
- Internet Explorer works in both graphics modes; NetFront 3.2 requires some ugly hacks to look OK in QVGA, but in VGA it looks great too;
- the latest versions of most e-book readers support VGA; for MobiPocket you need to make sure to get the latest 5.0 beta.
- make sure to get
TCPMP! It does a wonderful job if you want to play DivX movies on the X50v.
