Of course, but the problem is that as the number of pbooks sold shrinks production costs rise. And prices for pbooks will have to go up. The world's largest manufacturer of printing presses just went bankrupt a few months ago (Heidelberger Druckmaschinen). So the writing is on the wall. Nobody will invest in new printing equipment for paperbacks (and probably newspapers, by now). Ebook readers will become cheaper and cheaper, besides, you can just read on your phone (definitely no problem for those who manage only 5 books a year!).
