The Nook will not have a Dutch dictoionary, it is sold only in the US. There have been warranty issues for people who have purchased Nooks and had problems with them outside the US. You can get one but I would go with the Sony over the Nook. I have no idea about a Dutch dictionary for Kindle, I have never looked.
A lot of folks have been asking for color e-ink on this board and I have not seen too many posts from folks that they bought the Ectaco, probably because the retailer is not well known and it is far too expensive.
I agree with you about LCD vs E-ink, I prefer reading on e-ink especially out doors. That does not mean that we are not in the minority. It also doesn't mean that people are going to be willing to pay $300 or more dollars for a color e-ink reader. I don't need a color e-ink reader. Most of what I read is published in black and white. I would guess that is true for most folks. The subset of the e-ink market that we really benefit from a color screen is pretty small.
Keep in mind that in the US, half of the country does not read even 1 book a year. I don't remember the exact number, but I think it is something like 30% of US citizens read five or more books a year. That is who is buying e-readers. So you take a small percentage of the population and target them for a very specific device. Now you take an even smaller percentage, people who read comics and magazines, and market an color e-ink reader to them. The price is going to be higher then the regular e-reader.
Now toss in that many people who read comics and magazines have been buying tablets, IPads, Fires, Nook Tablets, Kobo Vox and ask them if they are will to own a $250 to $900 device with an LCD screen to read their comics and magazines in color and a $300 (probably more expensive then that) color e-ink device so they can read outdoors and watch what happens.
Amazon has already seen the niche e-ink model fail with the DX, a larger reader meant for academic and professionals who need PDF's, do you think they are in a hurry to try another niche e-reader product that is going to be expensive?
It is possible that people read more in Europe, I would guess that the numbers are not all that different to be honest, but the market for a color e-ink screen is going to be smaller. It cannot afford to be more expensive then the lower priced tablets and there is no way I can see that is going to happen. The research and development has been too expensive to be able to find a way to produce a marketable good that would sell under $200.
