Ouch, I don't recommend surging a level 14 cryocombs and leveling up to level 15 in the same cycle. I was needing over 300K energy, and it will take me another 3 cycles to get my energy needs back to zero. I guess I won't do that again. I agree with Travger, the anti-matter reactor town + 3 - 4 thorium reactors seems to be the way to go to maximum population increase without excessive energy deficits. I have 2 reactor towns in the corners, I think I'm going to add one more and when I get my energy back to normal I'm going to try surging a town core + reactors and maybe a military or food each cycle and see how that goes.

I wish Planet Baen had a way to communicate with one's allies. Although I'm a little lower on energy than I would like, I don't really feel like I'm hurting all that much. If I could see notes from my allies like "need bliss" or "need population" or "need energy" and it would make a big difference on what I would gift to them.
