I entirely agree. Tell someone that Star Wars is not SF, and the likely reaction is going to be "you're nuts" . Of course, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc, are simply old-fashioned adventure stories translated into an SF environment, but they are, by any reasonable definition, SF.
