Clever quiz, Daithi! I twigged when I saw Golf, Beatle and Accord close together.

I don't have a real quiz ready, but here's a quick question: in modern use "claptrap" means nonsense; perhaps as a euphemism for cr*p. But when it emerged in the 18th century it had a different meaning. How was it used in earlier times?
