I think non-fiction is great for interactive content. For fiction maybe an audio or video interview, behind the scenes type stuff. Like DVD features. I'm sure people were saying the something back when all these fancy video devices came. Like DVDs there could be a barebones version or a 3 disc platinum version. Then you have a choice. Whether the publishers do that or not is up to them. Same with the social tools, no one is forcing you to do it. But it's there if you want it. I happen too like Facebook because I keep in touch with a lot of family. I've even found family on there that I never really knew about. So while it may not be for you, some people find it very useful.
