Exclamation Free (DRM-free ePub/Mobi) Children of the Roses by Warren Adler [Satiric Comedy]

The Children of the Roses by Warren Adler, author of The War of the Roses novel which the old 80s escalating divorce comedy movie starring Kathleen Turner & Michael Douglas is based upon, and which he gave away copies of during Read an E-Book Week this year, now offers the sequel which is described as a "black comedy" temporarily free.

According to his newsletter, this offer is good through the end of April 29th (probably just a few hours left, depending on what timezone he's in) and you can get it @ the author's website, by filling in your name and a CAPTCHA (email and newsletter subscription optional but recommended if interested, as the author has stated he's thinking of doing more direct promo giveaways) in the sidebar on the right-hand side, after which you will be directed to a page where you can download a DRM-free ePub and Mobi file.

Adler is self-publishing his backlist in a big way, and he has priced his novels mostly at $4.99 list, pre-discounted and couponable at Kobo, Sony (he has some $2.99 ones there which may be shorter works, and used to have a freebie mystery for over a year, but it's gone back up now), and other outlets which allow user-applied discounts.

Description
The darkly hilarious sequel to The War of the Roses.

The Children of the Roses in typical Adler black comedy fashion deals with the impact of the Rose's horrific demise as described in The War of the Roses on their children and their grandchildren.

The Roses children, Josh who is now married to Victoria and his hugely overweight happy-go-lucky sister Evie, who has not married but finds pleasure at the trough and through a series of live-in lovers. Considering the experience of Josh Rose and his bride, Victoria, also the victim of parental mayhem, theirs should be a perfect marriage.

Instead, they find themselves in a different kind of shattering warfare. The overstuffed and ever-sympathetic Evie and Victoria's demonic and ever-sympathetic, male hating mother are their constant counterfoils. Throw in a suave headmaster who turns out to be a relentless sexual predator and blackmailing mobster-type husband and the stage is set for a rollicking nasty fun little tale.
