Quick-charge stuff takes 2 cycles instead of 4. Population's a decent gift for higher levels, as long as you've got an Energy setup which can afford it.
I'm personally a totally neutral centrist/pragmatist and there doesn't seem to be anything I'm blocked from buying (except just by level) as has been hinted by other players with more politically directed alignments.
