I thought I had replied to this thread at the time, but I can't see it anywhere, so thanks for the recommendations. I went for a Saki collection to begin with (Beasts and Super-beasts, I think it was), but then when I came to actually read it, I discovered that the Kindle app on my iPod no longer had any books downloaded - I think because I messed up an OS update and had to restore from backup - so I had to resort to my solitary iBook, The Life of Pi. I didn't even make it to the end of the introduction.

Anyway, it turned out that was my last session of physiotherapy, so I don't even have my waiting-room time to fill now. I redownloaded the short stories as soon as I was back in wifi, but I don't know when I'll next need to read them.
