10. Poison Dart frog - Sneaky with name help from Daithi
9. Cape Buffalo - Bilbo
8. Polar Bear - Red Phoenix +1/2 Shayne
7. Elephant - Daithi
6. Salt Water Crocodile - Bilbo
5. Lion - Orlok
4. Great White Shark - Bookpossum
3. Box Jellyfish - Shayne
2. ? Cobra - Poohbear
and the most Dangerous
1. Mosquito - Shayne

Pooh, I'm with you. I don't think this list is accurate, but it's what I found when I went looking. The bite of the sea snake is much more poisonous than that of the Asian Cobra, but not as many people get bit by it. And I think Great Whites account for more deaths per year than Lions! But...

Anyway, it looks like Shayne with her two points is the winner, but somebody better check my math! It's my bed time and can't do numbers even when I'm awake!

Well in my opinion including mosquitoes in inaccurate as mosquitoes do not cause deaths, they are only vectors for microbes that do causes death; e.g. yellow fever or malaria.

That and if one wants to cite the most deadly animal to mankind, excluding his fellow man, it would be Fido, or Rex, or . . .. That's correct I think it would be man's best friend. For example for 1979 to 1988 dogs caused at least 332 human deaths in the US alone. http://enhs.umn.edu/current/6120/bit...bitefatal.html

Over the same period the number of deaths in the US due to great white shark attacks was 3. http://www.jawshark.com/great_white_...untry_usa.html
