Further non-spoilery comments from when I read the 1st book are here in the What Are You Reading thread. I gave it a 6 out of 10 on The List. The story was overall okay and the prose is quite decent; I was just hoping for better from A Canadian Author.

I'll note that if you do like the premise and sample of the 1st book, then the tie-in deal would be a pretty good price for the 2nd.
