I guess there's no easy solution when Amazon doesn't want it (and won't tell you who owned it) and neither do the police. I understand the need for blacklisting, of course, but it just seems so wasteful to simply write the device off forever in its blacklisted state. I'm not sure if it would be feasible (without too many people abusing the system), but it seems there should be some sort of official process to "reprieve" some of these blacklisted devices. Rehabilitate them to their fully functioning status somehow and donate them to organizations—something. Anything would be better than just playing craigslist bingo with them for the rest of time.
