That has to be one of the worst business cliches I've ever heard!
I used to keep a list of the sayings our Sales Director trotted out. Not so much because they were cliches, but because he was always getting them wrong. here's a couple that I remember:
"Nothing we can do about it. It's a fait of complay."
"That's just a green herring."
And one of my bugbears, which I still hear now (today, in fact, from a customer):
"The proof is in the pudding." I want to shout to the rooftops, "It's 'The proof of the pudding is in the eating, you stupid b*stard!!!'", but I restrain myself
