Personally, I'd hope that they'd offer more good discount codes to people as "loyalty rewards" to keep them coming back and shopping for more (and recommending that people shop at Kobo so that they can get the codes as well).
Judging from everyone who's jumping on the buying and hopefully wishlisting other stuff to consider for future coupons, it is getting people to shop in their store who normally might not.
