I like door-stopper novels, and if my reading challenge is stopping me from reading them, then it is a problem with the challenge.

I think I've succumbed to that a bit, this year. I've been avoiding longer and shorter works because my challenge is based on books. Longer books take too long, and shorter works don't count. I'm not sure I like that, but as discussed previously, any other method is at least as foolish.

I'm not sure I'll go for a challenge next year, but I think I'll continue to record what I'm reading. And perhaps I'll stick with non-annual challenges, like my current journey through the Hugo winners.
